My Story

“I didn’t set out to become a fertility specialist. Fertility found me.”

My husband and I tried to conceive for ten years.

Not ten years of desperate hope and heartbreak — though I understand that journey intimately now. For us, it was ten years of living fully. I was studying — BSc, MSc, Yoga — immersed in learning, in Ayurveda, in the medicine I loved. My husband was building his business, present and passionate about his work. We were happy. We were healthy. We never felt desperate for children, and we never truly believed we couldn’t have them. They would come when they came.

As a practitioner, I was already doing everything right — herbal medicines, daily yoga, clean nutrition. I had looked carefully at endocrine disruptors and made our lives cleaner. There was no obvious reason. No diagnosis. No explanation. Just time passing, and life continuing beautifully around the quiet space where a child hadn’t yet arrived.

Then came the ectopic pregnancy.

A rupture. Sudden, frightening, final.

That pregnancy — however briefly it existed — changed everything. It made the quiet space louder. It made the wanting more real.

It was my husband who suggested IVF. I was hesitant — as an Ayurvedic practitioner, I had always believed in the body’s natural capacity, and I wanted to honour that. But I also trusted him. We agreed: one cycle. Whatever happened, one cycle.

Six months after the ectopic, we began.

I belong to a very small group of women — roughly 1% — who achieve success on their first IVF cycle. Not just success. Twins. A boy and a girl, conceived together, born together, who turned 18 this year.

My husband, who suggested that one cycle, who trusted when I was hesitant — he is no longer with us. But his instinct, his gentle certainty that we should try, gave us those two remarkable human beings. I carry that with me every day — in this work, and in them.

I know how extraordinary our story is. I know — because I have spent twelve years sitting with women for whom the story was not that simple.

The questions that changed my practice.

After my twins were born, something shifted in how I saw my work.

I started meeting other mothers — twin mothers, triplet mothers, women who had been through four, six, eight IVF cycles before holding their baby. Women who had given everything — financially, physically, emotionally — to the process. Women whose bodies had been through extraordinary things in pursuit of something that should, in so many cases, have been possible another way.

And I started asking questions that I haven’t stopped asking since.

Why are we not supporting these women with Ayurveda and herbal medicine before, during, and between their IVF cycles? Why are women going through so many cycles without anyone addressing the foundations — egg quality, gut health, stress, sleep, the whole picture that a standard fertility clinic simply doesn’t have time to look at? Why is the gap between what conventional fertility care offers and what these women actually need so wide — and why is nobody bridging it?

Those questions led me to where I am now. Twelve years of specialist fertility practice. Thirty years of Ayurvedic medicine. A clinic at Harley Street, London, and a patient list that spans the world.

The questions have only grown bigger with time. And so has my certainty that Ayurvedic medicine — when applied with clinical rigour and genuine depth — has extraordinary things to offer women on this journey.

What I want for you.

I want for you what I was fortunate enough to experience — not necessarily the first-cycle success, not necessarily the twins — but the feeling that your body is supported, understood, and given every possible natural advantage before any intervention begins.

I want you to walk into your fertility journey — whether that’s natural conception, IVF, or something in between — knowing that someone has looked at your complete picture. Your egg quality. Your gut health. Your stress response. Your Ayurvedic constitution. The things that don’t show up on a standard panel but show up, unmistakably, in your outcomes.

I want to ask the questions nobody else is asking — and find the answers that change what’s possible for you.

That’s why I do this work. That’s why, twelve years in, the questions still feel urgent.

And that’s why I’m here.
